→ Dipping Sauce (optional)

13 - 2 tablespoons soy sauce
14 - 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
15 - 1 teaspoon sugar
16 - 1 teaspoon chili sauce (optional)

# How To Make It:

01 - In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, grated carrot, sliced green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, salt, and sugar. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
02 - Cut each lumpia wrapper in half to create two rectangular pieces.
03 - Place 1 tablespoon of filling near one short edge of each wrapper half. Shape filling into a small log.
04 - Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then roll tightly. Brush the edge with beaten egg to seal securely.
05 - Continue assembling remaining filling and wrappers following the same method.
06 - Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
07 - Place lumpia bites in a single layer within the air fryer basket. Lightly spray them with oil.
08 - Air fry for 8 minutes until golden. Carefully flip each bite, spray again lightly with oil.
09 - Continue air frying for an additional 7 minutes or until bites are crisp and evenly browned.
10 - In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and chili sauce. Mix well.
11 - Serve lumpia bites hot, accompanied by the dipping sauce.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • They're crispy on the outside and tender inside without a drop of deep-frying oil, which means you can actually enjoy them guilt-free.
  • The whole thing comes together in 40 minutes flat, making them perfect for unexpected guests or when you're craving something restaurant-quality at home.
  • Watching them cook in the air fryer is oddly satisfying—no babysitting required, just a quick flip halfway through.
02 -
  • If your filling is too wet, the wrappers will steam instead of fry—grate the carrot and squeeze it gently to remove excess moisture before mixing.
  • Flipping halfway through is non-negotiable; it's the difference between one side golden and the other pale, and nobody wants that asymmetry.
  • Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket; even one extra lumpia bite can block air circulation and leave you with a soggy spot.
03 -
  • If you don't have an egg brush, your finger works just fine—just make sure you seal that final corner firmly so it doesn't peek open during cooking.
  • Keep a damp kitchen towel nearby while rolling; it prevents the wrappers from drying out and becoming brittle, which makes them tear instead of roll.
